Iraq’s Ambassador to Cairo Meets President of Egyptian Senate

Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States Dr. Qahtan Taha Khalaf, met with the President of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt Counselor Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek, at the Council’s headquarters.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries across various areas, in addition to emphasizing the importance of joint work to confront the challenges facing the Arab region, and supporting the Palestinian in obtaining their rights and establishing their state on the land of Palestine, the meeting also addressed the importance of enhancing coordination between the two countries at the Senate level, and the role of parliament in supporting Arab cooperation.

The two sides touched on ways to enhance cooperation between Iraq and Egypt, especially in the areas of reconstruction and development, in light of the recent openness to reconstruction projects in Iraq, and emphasized the importance of investing in the available economic opportunities for the benefit of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, the two parties underlined the strength of Iraqi-Egyptian relations, and affirmed the importance of developing frameworks for joint cooperation to serve the interests of the two peoples, and enhance their role in regional and international issues.
