Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Oman’s Minister of Commerce to Discuss Enhancing Bilateral Collaboration

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, received the Omani Minister of Commerce Mr. Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, in Baghdad on 2 February 2025. The two ministers discussed ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations between Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman across various areas, affirming the importance of joint economic cooperation, in addition they discussed mechanisms to support investment and trade projects, especially by strengthening the role of the private sector in both countries.
The meeting touched on the importance of holding the Iraqi-Omani Joint Committee in the Sultanate of Oman, as the two sides stressed the need to strengthen cooperation in the economic and investment areas to achieve joint interests.
Additionally, the two sides discussed the possibility of exchanging expertise between both countries in the public and private sectors, to develop skills and enhance performance in various economic sectors. At the end of the meeting, the two sides emphasized the importance of continuing bilateral dialogues to enhance the strategic partnership between Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman, thereby contributing to the achievement of development and prosperity for the two brotherly peoples.
