Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Receives Tunisian Ambassador in Baghdad

The Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr Aluloom, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to Iraq Mr. Shukri Al Latif, at the Ministry’s headquarters, on Monday, January 27, 2025.  

During the meeting they discussed ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries across various areas, especially in the area of clean energy, expanding volume of trade exchange, in addition to the resumption of direct flights between the two countries to strengthen tourism exchange. As well they discussed the ongoing preparations for convening the political consultations round, scheduled to be held next February.

During the meeting, the two parties stressed the depth of the historical and fraternal relations between Iraq and Tunisia, as well they pointed to the cultural and social ties that reflect the closeness between the two brotherly peoples, and the importance of building on these distinguished relations to enhance joint cooperation across various areas.

On his part, Ambassador Al Latif extended his thanks and appreciation to Undersecretary Bahr Aluloom for the warm reception and commended the strength of the relations between the two countries, in addition to affirming Tunisia’s keenness to develop joint cooperation and advance ties between both countries to greater prospects to achieve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
