Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Holds a Video Call with Dr. Mohammad Abu Raghif in Gaza

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Muhammad Hussein Bahr Al Uloom, held a video call with Dr. Mohammed Taher Kamil Abu Raghif, an Iraqi-British Doctor whose an Orthopedic and Peripheral Nerve, and Trauma surgeon, and one of the Iraqi outstanding competencies living in the United Kingdom.
Ambassador Bahr Al-Uloom commended the prominent humanitarian role played by Dr. Abu Raghif, who has volunteered for more than seven months in the Gaza Strip as part of international medical teams, stressing that his efforts represent an honorable exemplary for Iraqis in humanitarian fields. As well the Undersecretary commended his humanitarian initiative to volunteer to help civilians in Gaza, noting that raising the Iraqi flag reflects his pride in his country and presenting a bright image of Iraq internationally.
On his part, Dr. Abu Raghif expressed his pride in belonging to Iraq and his pride in providing medical services in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions in Gaza, outlining that his work seeks to save lives and inspire hope among the population in addition he called on the Iraqi government to enhance medical, humanitarian and educational support for the Stripe, pointing to the major challenges facing medical teams there. At the end of the call, Ambassador Bahr Al-Uloom affirmed that the Iraqi government pays special attention to national competencies abroad, stressing the importance of supporting their humanitarian efforts and enhancing their roles in a way that contributes to highlighting the bright image of Iraq across international forums.
