Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Chairs 1st Regular Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministry for 2025

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, chaired the first regular meeting of the Ministry’s Council for 2025, on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in the presence of the Ministry’s undersecretaries and heads of departments.
The meeting discussed intensively the topics on its agenda, where a number of important issues related to the work of the Ministry were discussed and appropriate decisions were taken regarding them. The meeting addressed the steps to automate the work of the Ministry with the aim of improving the efficiency of administrative performance and simplifying procedures, in addition to preparing for the upcoming Arab Summit scheduled to be held in Baghdad this year, in a way that enhances Iraq’s position and its active role in the international arena. As well they reviewed the law and system of the Ministry’s work to ensure the development of institutional performance in line with the current changes and challenges.
The meeting also touched on the most prominent obstacles facing the Ministry’s departments and diplomatic missions abroad, with the necessary solutions and processes to overcome them, in a way that contributes to enhancing the process of diplomatic work and supporting the performance of the Ministry across various areas.
