Head of Africa Department Meets Ugandan Foreign Minister

On Wednesday June 5, 2024, Head of Africa Department Dr. Ghazi Al Toubi, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda Mr. Jeje Odongo, at the headquarters of Ugandan’s Foreign Ministry. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, as well as Mr. Al Toubi delivered a letter addressed to Minister Odongo, from Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, contains the frameworks for developing bilateral relations between Iraq and Uganda in a way that meets the interests and ambitions of the two countries, the letter also included an invitation to Uganda’s Foreign Minister to visit Iraq. The Head of Africa Department, indicated the special importance that His Excellency Minister Hussein attaches to openness to African countries, especially Uganda, given the long historical relations that the two countries enjoy and the many commonalities that provide broad foundations for close relations between the two countries.

In addition to, Ugandan Foreign Minister expressed his deep thanks for the invitation, expressing his admiration for the Mesopotamian civilization, and the humanitarian contributions it has made to the world to this day, highlighting the several ties between Iraq and Uganda, stressing the importance of the Iraqi delegation’s visit to Uganda, which reflects the desire to develop bilateral relations, and promised to fulfill the invitation of His Excellency the Minister and visit Iraq as soon as possible.
