Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Moscow Meets Deputy Foreign Minister of Russian Federation
The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Russian Federation Dr. Qahtan Taha Khalaf, met with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation and Special Presidential Representative on the Middle East and Africa Mr. Mikhail Bogdanov, at the headquarters of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples, and promote the development of economic and trade fields, especially after the successful visit made by Prime Minister Mr. Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani in October of last year.
Ambassador Khalaf stressed the importance of supporting the Palestinian cause in international forums, especially in the Security Council, appreciating Russia’s stance in support of the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Al Quds as its capital.
On his part Mr. Bogdanov indicated that Russia was and remains supportive to the Palestinian people and will provide everything possible, as it has a permanent membership in the Security Council, in order for the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of their Palestinian state, in addition to Mr. Bogdanov praised the efforts exerted by the Iraqi embassy in Moscow in strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation and develop bilateral relations between the two countries at various levels.
The meeting was attended by the Counselor of the Embassy Mr. Hassanein Hadi, in addition to the Deputy Head of the Middle East Department and the Iraq desk officer at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
