Signing Memorandum of Understanding Between the Foreign Service Institute and United Nations University for Peace at the Palace of Nations in Geneva

The Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs Dr. Hisham Al-Alawi, and Permanent Observer of the University for Peace to the United Nations Office at Geneva Ambassador David Fernandez Puyana, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Foreign Service Institute and the United Nations University for Peace at the Palace of Nations in Geneva on January 8, 2024,
As an indicator of the Foreign Ministry and the Foreign Service Institute efforts to strengthen collaborative relations with the United Nations University for Peace in the field of professional development for diplomats and capacity building for all levels, by providing training programs and activities in the field of international relations, and promoting their basic skills related to multilateral diplomacy.

After completing the ceremony for signing the Memorandum of Understanding Dr. Al-Alawi stressed the keenness of the Foreign Ministry leadership to implement its programs for professional development and continuing education to qualify diplomats, especially in multilateral relations and peace-building subjects, in accordance with the United Nations Charter.
