Ambassador Ahmed Tahsin Berwari Presents His Credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Belgium
On 13/10/2022, Ambassador Ahmed Tahsin Berwari presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Belgium to His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium.
At the beginning of the meeting, King Philip welcomed Ambassador Barwari, wishing him success in his tasks in the interests of the common interests between the two friendly countries.
On his part, Ambassador Berwari conveyed the greetings of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Iraq to the King of Belgium, confirming that the Government of Iraq is looking forward to enhancing the prospects of bilateral cooperation with the Kingdom of Belgium at all levels, in a way that contributes to realising the common interests of both countries, referring to the appreciation of the Government of Iraq for the support and assistance that Iraq had received from the Kingdom of Belgium during its war on ISIS, and the humanitarian aid that Iraq received from the European Union countries, including the Kingdom of Belgium, in the context of the reconstruction of the areas affected by the war against ISIS, and the resettlement of the displaced as a result of the war in their home areas.
During the meeting, they also exchanged views on the current political situation in Iraq and the most important current events on the regional and international arenas. The two sides emphasized the need to continue the political consultations and fruitful cooperation between the governments of the two friendly countries.
