Minister of Foreign Affairs and His Saudi Counterpart Discuss the Bilateral Relations between two Countries and Ways to Upgrade Them to Serve Interests of the two brotherly peoples

Minister Fuad Hussein, has met his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of upgrading them to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples. The two sides also discussed Iraq’s efforts to de-escalate the situation and reduce tension between Riyadh and Tehran. Minister Hussein confirmed Iraq’s keenness to establish the best relations with the various countries of the world, especially the Arab and neighbouring countries; in order to activate the common interests and confront common risks, referring to the importance of concerted efforts for the return of stability to the region by adopting dialogue and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries, stressing the need for security coordination to combat the remnants of ISIS.

On his part, Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed that his country supports the unity and stability of Iraq, noting that the tension in the region calls for further efforts and contribution of all to finding peaceful solutions that restore security and stability.
