Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Malta Holds a Bilateral Meeting at the Maltese Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Mrs Safia Talib Al-Suhail, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Malta, accompanied by a senior diplomatic delegation, has held a bilateral meeting at the headquarters of the Maltese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the sidelines of her official visit and in compliance with the diplomatic protocol for the farewell ceremonies. The meeting was presided over by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, Mr Christopher Cartgar, from Malta.

 During the meeting, they followed the bilateral relations between the two sides on various fields, especially the files of bilateral and multilateral cooperation of the international institutions, and improving the level of joint cooperation in the sectors of culture, education and twinning between Iraqi and Maltese universities, and also benefiting from the Maltese experiences in the tourism sector.

An invitation was also extended to the Secretary-General to hold meetings and consultations in Baghdad, next September, and to sign memoranda of understanding on various fields.

The meeting concluded with an official farewell by the Secretary-General for Ambassador Al-Suhail on the occasion of the near end of her term, who expressed his thanks and appreciation for the distinguished efforts she exerted in developing those relations, which resulted in the appointment of a non-resident ambassador for Malta to the Republic of Iraq, wishing her success in her upcoming missions in the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
