Head of the Department of Arab Affairs Discusses with Tunisian Ambassador to Iraq preparations for holding the joint committee between the two countries

On 18/01/2022, the Acting Head of the Department of Arab Affairs, Dr Osama Mahdi Ghanem, met Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to Iraq, Mr Redha Zaqedan, at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, the latest political developments in the sisterly Republic of Tunisia and the region, and the threats to Arab national security. They also discussed the ongoing preparations for the holding of the Iraqi-Tunisian joint committee in the coming weeks headed by the foreign ministers of the two countries.

The head of the Department stressed Iraq’s keenness on the security and stability of Tunisia, wishing prosperity for all Arab peoples, including sister Tunisia, expressing his aspiration that the bilateral relations between Baghdad and Tunisia will witness  further cooperation and coordination in all political, economic and security fields, stressing the hard work for the success of the objectives of the joint committee and the resulting signing of the memoranda of understanding that serve the interests of the two brotherly countries.
