Deputy Head of Europe Department Meets French Deputy Ambassador to Iraq
The Deputy Head of the Europe Department, Counselor Wissam Walid Al-Qaisi, has met the French Deputy Chief of Mission to Iraq, Mr Jean-Christophe Paris.
During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two sides. The Deputy Head of the Europe Department commended the depth of the historic relations and joint cooperation between the two countries, noting that the Iraqi government’s appreciation the support provided by the French government in the field of security, combating terrorism and reconstruction.
They also discussed the cooperation of the French government with the Iraqi government in order to reach practical solutions to end the migrant crisis in a number of European countries, as France seeks to provide the necessary support through dialogue or enhance technical cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels through the European Union.
They also agreed to continue meetings between the two sides to consolidate frameworks of joint cooperation in all fields, especially in the consular field.
At the end of the meeting, the French DCM affirmed his country’s desire to continue its efforts to enhance the bilateral relations and joint cooperation in a manner in line with the depth of the historic relations.
