Foreign Minister Meets with His Serbian Counterpart in Belgrade
Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met on 10/10/2021, with Mr. Nikola Selaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, during his visit to the Serbian capital Belgrade to participate in the meeting of the 60th anniversary of the First Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The Minister expressed his aspiration to develop economic, agricultural, health, tourism, industrial, cultural and educational cooperation between Baghdad and Belgrade, and invited Serbian companies to contribute to investment projects of the reconstruction of Iraq’s infrastructure destroyed by wars and terrorist gangs of ISIS.
The Minister stressed importance of exchanging visits Between officials from both countries, to reinforce these relations.
For his part, the Serbian Foreign Minister valued efforts made by the Iraqi government for the success of the parliamentary elections, and for taking practical steps to ensure their integrity, as well as the sacrifices made by the Iraqi people in confronting and defeating terrorism.
Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein valued Serbia’s stances in its support for Iraq and extended an invitation to his Serbian counterpart to visit Baghdad to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries.
