Ambassador of Iraq to Abu Dhabi Holds Virtual Meeting with UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

On 27 April 2021, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Mudhafar Al-Jbori, held a virtual meeting with H.E. Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

During the meeting, they discussed issues of bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the UAE and ways to enhance this cooperation, in addition to a number of regional and international files of mutual interest. They also discussed opportunities and areas of investment.

The ambassador praised the depth of relations between the two countries, and stressed Iraq’s keenness to develop them in all fields, especially economic and trade aspects; pointing to the importance of activating agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two sides by activating the work of the joint Iraqi-Emirati committee.

For his part, H.E. Sheikh Al Nahyan extended his congratulations on the success of the recent visit of H.E. Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi to the UAE, indicating that the UAE-Iraqi relations are developing further and deepening under the support and patronage of both countries’ leaderships. He also stressed his country’s keenness to activate those relations in order to preserve the common interests of the two countries.
