Foreign Minister Meets with German Counterpart on Sidelines of Munich Security Conference to Discuss Developments in Implementing Agreement Signed between Ministry of Electricity and Siemens German Company

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with German Foreign Minister Mr. Heiko Maas on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in its 56th session.

Minister Alhakim expressed his appreciation for Germany’s supportive positions in Iraq in confronting Da’esh terrorist organisation through its contributing in military advisers and providing humanitarian and financial support.

The two Ministers touched on developments in the stages of implementing the agreement signed between the Ministry of Electricity and the German company Siemens, and praising the projects that have been implemented so far.

Minister Alhakim called on the German side to support lifting the ban on Iraqi airlines, and to contribute to training Iraqi staff, and building their capabilities, the two Ministers also discussed ways to resume the work of the Iraqi-German joint committee.
