The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Cairo Discusses with Director of Egyptian Investment Authority Means of Joint Cooperation

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo and the permanent representative to the League of Arab States , Dr. Ahmed Nayef Al-Dulaimi met with General Executive Director Mr. Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones ipat the authority’s headquarters.

The ambassador conveyed to Mr. Abdel-Wahab the greetings and appreciation of the head of the National Investment Commission in Iraq, Ms. Suha Dawud Al-Najjar, and wishes for the Arab Republic of Egypt and its friendly people for continued progress and prosperity.

The ambassador expressed his aspiration for cooperation between the Iraqi and Egyptian governments in all fields, as Iraq has now fully recovered from the challenge of terrorism thanks to the support of brotherly and friendly countries, including Arab Republic of Egypt, pointing out that Prime Minister Mostafa Al-Kadhimi confirmed that investment opportunities are available to Egyptian companies.

The Ambassador stressed the government’s endeavor to overcome obstacles facing companies wishing to invest in Iraq.

Ambassador Al-Dulaimi expressed his hope for transferring Egyptian experiences and expertise in the field of investment, and the wide presence and strong participation of Egyptian investment companies with experience in implementing various projects.

Ambassador Al-Dulaimi pointed out that Iraq has become an attractive area for investment in various sectors after achieving the final victory over Da’esh terrorist gangs, its security stability, and its political openness to its regional and international surroundings.

The two sides discussed the upcoming plans and mechanisms within the framework of the joint Iraqi-Egyptian Higher Committee, which was held in Baghdad last month, headed by the prime ministers of the two countries.

In this context, Mr. Abdel Wahab indicated his government’s keenness to implement the fruitful agreements, considering that the joint committee is one of the most important mechanisms for activating cooperation between the two countries in many fields, pointing to the strategic importance of relations between Egypt and Iraq, and the momentum and remarkable development witnessed in the recent period, especially in light of the participation of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in the tripartite summit between Egypt, Iraq and Jordan in Amman, on 25/08/2020, noting that the summit dealt with in terms of discussing ways to enhance joint tripartite cooperation in various fields between the three countries, especially in the field of investment.
