The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Cairo Discusses Joint Cooperation with Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry

Mr. Ahmed Nayef Al-Dulaimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States met with Dr. Nevin Jameh, Minister of Trade and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt and discussed methods of strengthening and developing commercial and industrial cooperation between Iraq and Egypt in preparation and coordination for the Iraqi-Egyptian Higher Joint Committee in the coming period, to be held in Baghdad between the Prime Ministers of the two countries.

Ambassador Al-Dulaimi affirmed that Iraq has now become an attractive arena for foreign companies and investments, especially after achieving the final victory over Da’esh terrorist gangs and its security stability, and its political openness to its regional and international environment, explaining that coordination is underway with Baghdad to study draft agreements and memorandums of understanding proposed by the Egyptian side noting the importance of activating the land road between Egypt and Iraq to activate the intra-trade movement between the two countries, pointing to Iraq’s keenness to enhance joint economic cooperation with Egypt as part of the government’s efforts to rebuild Iraq, expressing Iraq’s aspiration to seek the help of Egyptian companies, expertise and manpower to participate in reconstruction projects.

On her part, Minister Nevin Jameh stressed the Egyptian government’s keenness to hold the committee as soon as possible, as it is one of the most important mechanisms for activating cooperation between the two countries in many fields, including trade and industry expressing aspiration for the coming period to witness strengthening and upgrading of relations between Iraq and Egypt.

The Egyptian Minister called for the importance of strategic cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various commercial and industrial levels, as the recent presidential summit held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, represented a cornerstone for activating joint Arab cooperation and achieving the hopes and aspirations of Arab peoples.
