The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to Muscat Meets with Omani Deputy Foreign Minister for Diplomatic Affairs

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Muscat Mr. Ali Mahdi Al-Dabbagh, met with the Deputy Foreign Minister for Diplomatic Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al-Harthi.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries to serve the common interests; Ambassador Al-Dabbagh called for the importance of sustaining bilateral political dialogues in the light of current developments, in addition to the latest developments in Iraq, and also touched on the issue of diplomatic permits for Omani aircraft crossing the airspace of Iraq.

On his part, Mr. Al-Harthi welcomed the holding of meetings at the level of Undersecretaries of the Foreign Ministry of both countries, indicating that Mr. Youssef bin Alawi, Foreign Minister would welcome the idea because he is interested in political dialogues with Iraq and fraternal countries and praised Iraq’s efforts to reduce tension in the region, especially the tension that occurred between Iran and Saudi Arabia after the events of the attack on Aramco.
