Foreign Minister Inaugurates Consulate General of the Republic of Iraq in Manchester
Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim inaugurated the Consulate General of the Republic of Iraq in Manchester and raised the flag of Iraq at the consulate in an official presence. Ambassador of Iraq in London Mr. Saleh Al-Tamimi, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Iraq Mr. Jonathan Wilks, and the Consul General of the Republic of Iraq in Manchester Dr. Ihsan Allawi, and Mayor of Manchester City Mr. Abid Latif Chohan .
Minister Alhakim gave a speech at the ceremony in which he praised the Iraqi-British relations, noting that Iraq has become an attractive country for investment, stressing the importance of Manchester City for Iraqis, for its role in providing Iraq with many graduates in various specialties, in addition to the presence of a large number of Iraqis calling on the importance of and meeting the Iraqi community’s needs with regard to their passports, certificates, and other services, and cooperation to overcome the obstacles, and providing services to the Iraqi people.
This comes within the framework of the ministry’s keenness to connect with Iraqi people in any region in which they are located.
