The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomes the French Ambassador in Iraq and they discuss; The Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership held its second session in Jordan

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, received the French Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Eric Chevalier. During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest and what contributes to strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, the most prominent of which is the holding of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership in its second session in Amman, with the participation of France to discuss regional and international challenges, achieve common interests, and stress Iraq’s vital role in laying the foundations for security and stability in the region.

The two sides agreed to coordinate with the Jordanian side to prepare for holding the conference, and they discussed the outcomes of the COP27 Climate Summit held in Sharm El-Sheikh, and how to establish cooperation in this field.

For his part, the French Ambassador extended congratulations and blessings to the Minister on the occasion of the formation of the new government, and renewed confidence in him as Minister of the Republic of Iraq, affirming the support of the French government for the new government, referring to the message of the French President, Mr. Emmanuel Macron to the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani, Which emphasizes the continuity of relations with Iraq and work upon strengthen them.

In conclusion, the two sides stressed the importance of exchanging visits between French and Iraqi officials to maximize trade exchange and expand economic relations.
