Meeting of the Consul General with the Director of the Texas Regional Office
Mr. Hawrre AL-Talabani, the Consul General of the Republic of Iraq in Texas, met with Ms. HO, the Regional Office Director of the U.S. Department of State, and her assistant, Mr. Scott Bell, at the Department of State office in Houston on August 12, 2024.
The meeting covered several critical issues of mutual interest, including enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in economic and cultural fields. Discussions also touched on improving consular services for citizens abroad and the Regional Office’s readiness to support the Consulate of the Republic of Iraq in Texas. Additionally, the coordination of responses to potential crises and emergencies was addressed. The Consul General praised the excellent relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation to achieve a common target and enhance the friendship between the peoples. He noted that the success of the Consulate of the Republic of Iraq in Texas reflects positively on the state of Texas, renowned for its advancements in medical, industrial, economic, oil, and cultural sectors, as well as its prestigious universities and NASA. The Meeting Disclosure spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding, with expectations that the discussions will contribute to the consolidation of bilateral collaboration and opening new avenues for future cooperation. Ms. HO expressed her appreciation for the productive collaboration with the consulate, stressing the need for ongoing dialogue and coordination to ensure the interests of both countries are met.
