Archaeological sites in Basra

The meeting point of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers :This river, Shatt al-Arab, is formed from the meeting of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, which is located in southeastern Iraq in the city of Qurna, north of Basra. It flows to the south, It is (120 miles) long 193(km), it passes through the port of Basra, Its width ranges from about (120) feet (37) meters. It narrows towards its end in the Gulf with 0.5 mile/ 0.8 km, Along its shores are palm trees farms, which are naturally irrigated by tidal waves.

Basra Cultural Museum: It is an archeology museum located in the city of Basra, southern Iraq. It was established in the building of one of the presidential palaces dating back to the former regime on the Shatt al-Arab. The museum contains 440 artifacts, some of which date back to 300 BC.

Imam Ali Mosque (PBUH): The Old Basra Mosque or the Step Mosque of Imam Ali, it is the first mosque in Islam outside Mecca and Medina, and it is considered the first school of jurisprudence, the noble hadith of the Prophet, and then the science of fundamentals and philosophy.
