Charge d’Affairs visits Swedish National Heritage Authority

Mr. Pewan Zawiti, Chargé d’Affairs a.i., met with Mr. Joakim Malmström, Director General of the Swedish National Heritage Authority, and Ms. Susani Thedin, Deputy Director General on 11 November 2022.

Both sides discussed prospects for cooperation between Iraq and Sweden as well as a number of cultural topics, most notably the Iraqi cultural heritage and the impact of wars and conflict on it, stressing the need for cooperation and support for efforts aimed at preserving cultural properties in times of war and crisis and promoting awareness at all levels in order to preserve cultural heritage
