Minister of Water Resources meets companies specialized in water management

During his participation in the World Water Week 2022, the Minister of Water Resources, Mr. Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, met with representatives of several companies specialized in the field of water management, including (Stockholm Vatten och Avfall, XYLEM, Aqua Robur Technologies AB, Nordic Water).

The Minister highlighted the needs of the Ministry and challenges facing it in confronting the water crisis in Iraq as well as the ongoing projects, stressing Iraq’s interest in international companies to contribute to the development of water infrastructure, transfer of modern technology and techniques in order to enhance the productivity, quality and rationalization of water consumption.

The companies showed great interest in investing in Iraq and presented their services, products, and experiences as well as projects and solutions they are providing.

The meetings provided a good opportunity to take a look at the available technologies in Sweden dealing with water resources and to encourage the Swedish companies to start activities in Iraq whether through the Ministry of Water Resources or through local governments and partners.

It was agreed to continue communications and interaction between the ministry and representatives of the companies on prospects for cooperation.
