The presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq Mrs. Lina Omarto the opening of the first parliamentary session of the National Assembly

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Bulgaria H.E. Mrs. Lina Omar attended the opening of the first session of the newly elected 49th Parliament, which took place on 12.04.2023 in Sofia, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Mr. Rumen Radev, the leaders of the political parties who won parliamentary seats in the last parliamentary elections, as well as Their Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, Ambassadors. The session was unveiled by the chairmanship of the oldest deputy, Mr. Vezhdi Rashidov. The 240 winning MPs, representing six victorious parties, led by the GERB party with 69 parliamentary seats, took the constitutional oath. The President of the Republic, Rumen Radev, delivered his speech during the opening, expressing the hope that dialogue, humility and the language of reason will prevail in the new parliament to advance the urgent tasks of forming a permanent government and adopting important laws, including adoption of the general budget of the state, to ensure the income of the Bulgarian citizens, as well as to get out of the current political impasse. During the opening of the meeting, the leaders of the six winning parties delivered short speeches in which they indicated their political priorities in the next stage and their serious efforts to overcome the challenges facing Bulgaria recently.
