The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Bulgaria, H.E. Mrs. Lina Omar, met with the Iraqi Prof. Dr. Karim Fakhir Naama, a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of Veliko Tarnovo University. During the meeting, the possibilities for establishing educational and cultural cooperation between Iraqi universities and the University of Veliko Tarnovo were discussed, as well as ways to participate in the European Union student exchange program “Erasmus”, which was launched in 1987. Since then, the program has helped educating millions of students in more than 4,000 universities from over 30 countries in Europe, while providing opportunities for educational exchange between EU and non-EU students and teachers. H.E. Ms. Lina Omar expressed her support for the opportunity that could open up for Iraqi students in Bulgaria to develop and enter any academic and educational field that serves their interests.
