Participation in an event under the slogan “Diplomacy of Miracles”

Ambassador Lina Omar attended an event organized by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Mrs. Zakia El Midawi, which was attended by the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mrs. Ilyana Yotova, the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture and Education, Mrs. Maria Gabriel, the Editor-in-Chief of the Standard newspaper, Mrs. Slavka Bozukova, Ambassadors, diplomats and a number of other guests.

The event was held at the residence of the Moroccan Ambassador under the slogan “Diplomacy of Miracles” and took place on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Bulgarian-Moroccan diplomatic relations.

The campaign dates back to 2011 under the title (Wonders of Bulgaria) and is part of a national campaign aimed at reviewing and supporting the cultural and historical heritage of Bulgaria and is part of the work of a European organization called (EUROPE NOSTRA) (European organization, dedicated to the protection of Europe’s natural heritage). In 2018, Bulgaria received an award from the committee of this organization, and in March 2021 a ceremony was held to identify the 10 most important cultural and historical monuments – “Wonders of Bulgaria”, including archaeological and cultural sites, which were visited by thousands of Bulgarian and foreign tourists from around the world.

The event began with an introductory speech by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco and a speech by the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria. The traditional Moroccan folk costume (Moroccan cafetan) was presented, in addition to the Bulgarian folk costumes. Traditional Moroccan food and pastries were served to guests. The event was accompanied by the presentation of a book entitled “Legends of the Wonders of Bulgaria”, translated into (three languages: English, German and Russian).
