The Head of Mission visits Diplomatic Protocol Directorate

H.E. Mr. Mohammed Al-Azzawi, Chargé d’Affaires, met On 02/07/2020 with the official of the Diplomatic Protocol Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mrs. Galina Dimitrova and delivered a letter from Dr. Fuad Hussein, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq to his Bulgarian counterpart, Mrs. Ekaterina Zaharieva containing an appeal the name of the Republic of Iraq to be removed from the list of the European Union Commission of High Risk Countries in the field of money laundering and terrorist financing. During the meeting, H.E. Mr. Mohammed Al-Azzawi referred to the distinguished historical relationship between Iraq and Bulgaria, and the mutual support in international forums, and highly praised the role of Bulgaria in its continuous efforts in supporting of Iraq by its participation in the international coalition forces fighting against “ISIS” terrorist organization, and reffered to the great sacrifices that the Iraqis made in their fight against the terrorism, which benefits all the world. The meeting also discussed the bilateral agreements signed between the two countries and the mutual support in international organizations .
