The The President of the State Council and President of the Supreme Administrative Court, Dr. Kareem
Khamees Khasbak met with the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of Bulgaria Mr. Georgi
Cholakov at the SAC building in Sofia, in the presence of the Director of the Office of the President of
the Court, Mr. Dragomir Zhelyazkov, Judge Lyubka Petrova, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to
Bulgaria H.E. Mrs. Lina Omar and other judges.
During the meeting, ways to increase the level of cooperation and coordination between the two
countries in the judicial sphere for the benefit of the common interest were discussed. As well as, the
stages through which cases pass until issuing decisions and the mechanisms for appealing them were
explained.
Dr. Khasbak emphasized the need for Iraq to benefit from Bulgarian experience in the field of
administrative justice through exchange of experience, creation of joint programs and participation in
conferences, courses and workshops held in Bulgaria in the field of developing mechanisms for the
operation of administrative justice with the participation of international organizations and the European
Commission.
