Meeting with the Chairperson of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination in Bulgaria Assoc. Prof.  Dr ANA DJUMALIEVA

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Bulgaria, Mrs. Lina Jalal Omar met with the Chairperson of the Commission for Protection from Discrimination in Bulgaria, Mrs. Ana Djumalieva, at the regular meeting of the Arab Аmbassadors in Sofia. During the meeting, the priorities of the new Palestinian government were discussed, including alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and achieving financial stability, economic and social security. Her Excellency shared Iraq’s position in support of the Palestinian cause and called on the international community to support the Palestinian people against genocide and the requirement to apply the principles of human rights.

The commission’s work in the field of hate speech and the protection of the rights of women and minorities was also discussed with Mrs. Djumalieva, as well as her willingness to cooperate with the Arab missions, accredited to the Republic of Bulgaria in the field of protection against discrimination.

It is important to note that the Commission for Protection from Discrimination is a Bulgarian national independent specialized state quasi-judicial body for the prevention of discrimination, protection from discrimination and implementation of state policy in the field of equal opportunities and equal treatment of all citizens on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.
