Meeting of the Ambassador with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania Ms. Megi Fino

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mrs. Lina Omar, met in Sofia with
H.E. Ms. Megi Fino, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania, as part of her
official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria, on the occasion of 110 years since the
establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Albania and
Bulgaria. During the meeting, ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the
two countries, which date back to more than 65 years, were discussed. During the
conversation, Ms. Mеgi Fino extended an invitation to Ambassador Lina Omar to
visit Albania in the near future, stating that such a visit would contribute to the
strengthening of the friendly relations and joint cooperation between the two
countries in all areas. It is important to note that the Republic of Albania is one of
the significant countries at the Balkans, due to its excellent geographical location
and the economic opportunities it enjoys as an active member of the international
scene and a key partner in international organizations and agencies, including the
World Trade Organization, as well as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization
(NATO). Albania is a candidate for the European Union membership.
