Ambassador Lina Omar visited Varna
Ambassador Lina Omar visited the city of Varna on September 27, 2021 and met with the Deputy Mayor of the city, Mr. Pesho Peshev. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the ancient cultural and archaeological sites of the third largest city in Bulgaria, the city rich of historical, economic and cultural significance and considered as one of the most important ports and shopping centers on the Black Sea coast. During the meeting with the Deputy Mayor Mr. Peshev topics of common interest for both countries were discussed, such as the possibility of exchanging scientific experience and mutual visits of university rectors, and conducting training seminars for students and teachers between Varna universities and Iraq’s prestigious universities, in addition to the possibility of admitting more Iraqi students to universities and research centers in the Varna region. In the conversation of both sides topics from the economic and tourist spheres were touched upon.
At the end of the visit H.E. Mrs. Lina Omar thanked the deputy mayor for the meeting and invited him to visit Iraq and see the country’s cultural and scientific landmarks.
