The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq H.E. Lina Omar met with the Director of the Bulgarian National Library

Ambassador Lina Omar held a meeting with Mrs. Krassimira Alexandrova, Director of the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius ”. Mrs. Alexandrova welcomed the Ambassador and expressed her congratulations on her appointment as an Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Bulgaria. On her side, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the good reception, emphasizing the desire to strengthen relations between the two countries in all areas, outlining the importance of the cultural sphere. N. Pr. Lina Omar expressed her gratitude to the Bulgarian National Library, which responded to the Embassy’s request by providing it with a set of valuable books, for the Mosul library, which suffered great damage caused by the violent attack of the terrorist organization ISIS. The two sides reaffirmed their support for maintaining cultural communication between the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq and the Bulgarian National Library, and said the signing of a memorandum of understanding would greatly facilitate customs procedures for the exchange of books and scientific and cultural resources between the two countries. At the end of the meeting, the director of the Bulgarian National Library presented a book from the library as a gift to the Iraqi embassy, appreciating the efforts and interest.
