Iraq and Bulgaria strengthen trade cooperation with the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding

H.E. Mrs. Lina Omar, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Bulgaria, attended the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerceand the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sofia. The agreement underscores the shared commitment of both countries to expand economic and trade cooperation.

The memorandum was signed by Mr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi, President of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, and by the Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the meeting, Mr. Riyad Al-Hashemi, Director General of the Directorate for Foreign Economic Relations at the Iraqi Ministry of Trade, emphasized that the memorandum provides an important framework for strengthening partnerships between the business communities of both countries and opens new prospects for investment and trade collaboration.

The ceremony also included bilateral discussions on preparations for the upcoming meetings of the Joint Iraqi-Bulgarian Committee. In addition, the Iraqi side extended an invitation to Bulgarian companies to participate in the Baghdad International Fair, highlighting its role as a key platform for enhancing communication and exploring promising investment opportunities in the Iraqi market.
