Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs held a phone conversation with his Bulgarian counterpart

On Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Fuad Hussein, received a phone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Georg Georgiev, during which they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.During the discussion, the two ministers reviewed the existing bilateral cooperation and its future prespectives, with an emphasis on strengthening the economic partnership. They also discussed the “Development Path” project, for which Minister Georgiev expressed Bulgaria’s readiness to contribute to this strategic project, which is expected to develop regional growth by the infrastructure connectivity and facilitation of trade relations.For his part, Mr. Fuad Hussein gave a clear signal that he would follow up on Bulgaria’s proposals on the project, emphasizing Iraq’s willingness to strengthen economic partnership with Bulgaria and reaffirming its commitment to continuing the dialogue with international partners to achieve mutual interest.At the end of the conversation, the Bulgarian Minister extended an official invitation to Mr. Fuad Hussein to visit Bulgaria, with the aim of deepening the bilateral dialogue. The Iraqi Minister, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the invitation and emphasized his readiness to accept it at the earliest convenience.
