Best wishes to the friendly Bulgarian people on the occasion of “Baba Marta”

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Sofia extends its warmest
congratulations and best wishes to the Bulgarian people and the Bulgarian
government on the occasion of “Baba Marta” Day. On the first day of
March, Bulgarians celebrate the spring holiday “Baba Marta”, which is
considered one of the oldest and most revered Bulgarian traditions. On this
day, people give each other „ Martenitsa” – braided red and white threads
that symbolize health and happiness throughout the year.
