Meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Bulgaria

H.E. Mrs. Lina Omar, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Bulgaria met with Mr. Georgi Tahov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Bulgaria, at the building of the Ministry of Agriculture in Sofia. At the meeting, views were exchanged aimed at deepening and strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, especially in the agricultural sector. Emphasis was placed on the need to accelerate the procedures for signing a joint Memorandum of Understanding on Agricultural Cooperation, which would contribute to promoting investments, mitigating procedures for investors, and facilitating the exchange of experience in the field of organic agriculture and sustainable agriculture.
The two sides also discussed the possibilities for cooperation in the field of orchard and forest management, as well as ways of using groundwater with the help of modern technologies and modern irrigation methods.
