The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq organizes an art exhibition in Sofia
The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Sofia organized on 12 September 2019 an art exhibition of paintings and drawings on glass of four Iraqi artists living in Bulgaria. The opening of the exhibition titled “Drawings from Mesopotamia” was at the National Library in Sofia . The Director of the National Library, assoc. prof. Dr. Krasmira Alexandrova, delivered a speech in the opening ceremony in which she pointed out that the such an exhibition is held in the National Library for the first time in the history of relations between the two countries Bulgaria and Iraq, for a great happiness for all, pointing out to the civilization of Iraq and its ancient history. H.E Mr. Jassim Msawil, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq expressed his gratitute for choosing the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq by the Bulgarian National Library to host of the Iraqi Art Exhibition “Drawings from Mesopotamia “. . H.E Mr. Jassim Msawil then delivered a brief speech in which he pointed out that the holding of this exhibition in Bulgaria confirms the depth of the traditional relations between the two countries, not only at the political level, but at other levels too, as the cultural level too. The opening of the exhibition was attended by a number of Arab and foreign ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps in Sofia, a number of Bulgarian citizens interested in art and a number of Iraqi community members. All attendees were impressed. The exhibition will last for one week.
