H.E. Mrs. Lina Omar, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq participated in a high-level forum organized by the UNHCR for Refugees in Bulgaria, the Pan Europe Foundation and the Liberal Institute for Policy Analysis (LIPA) under the title “What Refugees and Forcibly Displaced Persons bring to their Host Country”, which took place at the Vrana Palace in the capital Sofia. During the forum, the possibility of including refugees and their social integration into Bulgarian society was discussed, as well as the use of their experience, given the fact that Bulgaria is an external border of the European Union and plays a crucial role in the protection of refugees. It was shared at the forum that an integration strategy would provide a coherent approach to finding new ways to integrate refugees into Bulgarian society. The event was specially attended by King Simeon of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, a number of Ambassadors, representatives of institutions, businessmen, as well as representatives of the Arab communities in the Republic of Bulgaria.
