Meeting of H.Е.The President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev, with the Arab Ambassadors accredited to Bulgaria

 H.E. Mrs. Lina Omar, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Bulgaria met with H.E. the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev, with the participation of the Arab the Ambassadors accredited to Bulgaria, in the presidency building on March 7, 2024. The President outlined in his opening remarks that military actions in the Middle East have a direct impact on international peace and affect stability in neighboring regions. Therefore, Bulgaria is ready to support any proposal for the cessation of hostilities, the de-escalation of the conflict and the search for a solution to restore peace.

 The Arab Ambassadors expressed a position of not allowing mass forced resettlement of Palestinian refugees in neighboring countries, which would lead to their destabilization. Diplomatic representatives emphasized that since the start of hostilities, 39,000 Palestinians have died, of which 14,600 are children and about 9,000 women, and 70% of buildings in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed, including schools, hospitals, religious temples, UN centers.
