Participation in the “Women and Diplomacy” initiative

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mrs. Mariya Gabriel awarded the winners of the national competition “Women and Diplomacy – Ambassador for a Day”. H. E. Mrs. Lina Omar, Ambassador of Iraq attended the award ceremony for the winners of the competition, which took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 15.12.2023. The competition was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mrs. Maria Gabriel after a meeting with female Ambassadors in Sofia. The initiative was aimed at girls and young women between the ages of 14 and 25 with an interest in diplomacy, who submitted an essay on the topic “I am a Diplomat”. The best essays was awarded by the jury composed of Dr. Ingrid Shikova, Department of European Studies at Sofia University, Kiril Valchev – Director General of BTA, and Petar Kraychev, Director General for Bilateral Relations at the Foreign Ministry
