Instructions and Requirements for Document Authentication

“Authentication of Ordinary (Canadian) Documents”

  • The document to be authenticated must be issued by an official Canadian authority and authenticated by the local governments authorized by the Canadian government, according to the entities and departments indicated through the link, click here.​
  • Canadian residency identification of the applicant along with the applicant’s proof documents.​
  • A financial fee of fifteen US dollars ($15).​

“Authentication of Commercial (Canadian) Documents”

“Authentication of Iraqi Documents”

  • All documents authenticated by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Authentication Department and authentication offices in the Iraqi provinces, and all documents authenticated by our missions abroad, are authenticated.​
  • Canadian residency identification of the applicant along with Iraqi proof documents.​
  • Financial fee:​
    • Ordinary documents: fifteen US dollars ($15).​Iraqi Embassy
    • Commercial documents: one hundred sixty US dollars ($160).​

Notes:

  • It is possible to submit the application by mail with the inclusion of a registered return envelope to return the transaction after its issuance.​
  • Authentication of school and university documents in Ottawa is exclusively under the jurisdiction of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Washington.​
  • “The embassy is not responsible for the loss of transactions by mail.”​
