The Electronic Visa for Iraq
Those who wish to enter the Republic of Iraq must apply in advance for the electronic visa through the link below, starting from March 1, 2025.
What is an electronic visa?
The electronic visa allows you to enter Iraq without needing to visit an embassy or consulate. It is valid for 60 days and can be used for either single or multiple entries.
To apply for the e-visa, you must have a valid passport, a digital photo, and proof of residence. You can use our easy and convenient portal to complete the online form, upload the required documents, and pay the visa fee using a secure online payment method.
Your electronic visa will be sent to you by email, and you can print it out and present it at the airport. It’s that simple. Apply now and start planning your visit to Iraq.

If you are a Canadian citizen, a Canadian-Iraqi dual citizen with an expired Iraqi passport, or a U.S. citizen, please make sure to click on “Visa on Arrival” as shown in the image when accessing the electronic visa portal. This step is important to ensure you are applying through the correct section.

The electronic program for screening incoming travelers
As part of the National Plan to Simplify Procedures, and in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers / National Data Center Department, the Electronic Program for Screening Incoming Travelers has been implemented by the Ministry of Health. In this regard, we would like to clarify the following:
- All Arab and foreign travelers must register on the electronic platform to schedule the date and location of their medical screening if their stay in Iraq will exceed fifteen (15) days.
- Travelers also have the option to register on the platform before entering Iraq through the following link:

The Electronic Program for Examining Arrivals
As part of the national plan to simplify procedures, the electronic program for examining arrivals has been implemented by the Iraqi Ministry of Health, and regarding this, we would like to clarify the following:
Arab and foreign arrivals are registered on the electronic platform to determine the date and location of the examination upon their entry into Iraq if their stay is more than 15 days.

Instructions for Granting Entry Visa for Diplomatic Passports
Entry visas are granted to holders of diplomatic and service passports, members of the armed forces, and employees of non-governmental organizations through the Embassy according to the following steps:
- A memorandum addressed to the Embassy from the competent Canadian authorities.
- Two (2) photographs.
- A valid passport.
- The visa is granted by the Embassy after obtaining the approval for its issuance from the competent Iraqi authorities.
