A meeting between H.E. Ambassador Dr. Wadee Al Batti and President of Carleton, Dr. Benoit-Antoine Bacon
H.E. Dr. Wadee Al Batti, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Canada, visited Carleton University on November 1st, 2019 and he met Dr. Benoit-Antoine Bacon, President of Carleton University. They discussed methods of collaboration between Carleton University and Universities in Iraq. Some of the proposals presented include creating a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and twinning programs between Carleton University and its counterpart universities in Iraq. They also discussed creating shared activities between the University of Carleton and the Embassy of Iraq to allow for the students to understand the rich history and present of Iraq, and the procession of relations between Canada and Iraq. Attending the meeting from the University was Mrs. Karen Shwarts, Vice President for Research and International Affairs and Public Relations Officer; and attending from the Embassy were Mr. Amjed Rasheed, head of the cultural dossier and Mr. Mohsin Ali Mohsin, head of protocol and media affairs.
