The Mission of Iraq to the UN was cordially invited to the 6th Annual Iraqi Cultural Heritage Club event of Rutgers University in New Jersey. The student club was founded by Iraqi PhD candidates in order to create an organization that they can enjoy both for the purposes of missing their home, and to share with the students and faculty of Rutgers University their culture, food, music and customs. Ambassador Alhakim delivered the opening remarks of the event and thanked the students and faculty of Rutgers. Rutgers University has been especially helpful and attentive to Iraqi students, and the function marked an excellent opportunity to thank and celebrate that relationship. Additionally, Iraqi families from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and as far off as North Carolina were in attendance.
As Iraqi community in the east coast, we d like to thank the Iraqi permanent mission to UN FOR THEIR HELP AND SUPPORT. A SPECIAL THANK GOES TO HIS EXCELLENCY AMBASSADOR MUHAMMED ALI ALHAKEEM FOR HIS COMING EVEN DURING THE SEVER WINTER STORM. We are so proud of your achievement
