Iraq presents its national statement at the general debate session of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly at its 77th session

The delegation of Iraq presented the country’s national statement at the general debate session of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly at its 77th session, which included:

🔸 The priority of human rights, especially the rights of the child in Iraq, where all the joints related to these legislative and executive rights and capacity-building are developed in parallel, based on the Iraqi constitution and its international obligations.

🔸 Presenting a vision about the extent of suffering and the damage that terrorism has caused to children and youth, especially the crimes of the terrorist organization ISIS, and the procedures followed by the Iraqi government in developing the community care sector, rehabilitation, and integration

🔸 Reviewing the national strategy for early childhood development for the period from 2022-2025 that was developed in cooperation with UNICEF, and innovative and realistic work mechanisms to advance the reality of the child in Iraq.

🔸 Emphasis on taking into account the special needs of children of both sexes (male and female) in a manner consistent with the privacy of each of them.

🔸 Awareness of society, especially those responsible for caring for children in various societal sectors and age groups, about the importance of listening to children’s needs and involving them in finding solutions to their problems and ways to develop their abilities.
