He indicates, The Government of Iraq affirms its support for the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty as the cornerstone of the disarmament and non-proliferation regimes, and that full commitment to it and achieving its universality is the only guarantee to protect the international community from the danger of these deadly weapons that have a tremendous destructive capacity on humans and the environment alike.
Emphasizing the importance of strengthening measures to prevent terrorists from obtaining weapons of mass destruction, and the need to address the threat facing humanity through international solidarity and cooperation
Expressing disappointment that the 2015 and 2022 NPT Review Conferences were unable to reach agreement on the outcome document, undermining prospects for progress in the area of disarmament and non-proliferation
He praised the efforts made in holding two sessions of the conference on the establishment of a zone free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East, chaired by Jordan for the first session and the State of Kuwait for the second session, and their success.
