During his meeting with his German counterpart; Minister of Foreign Affairs Stresses the need to raise the level of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Berlin
On the sidelines of the meetings of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held in New York, Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein, met with German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Annalina Birbock. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and prospects for enhancing them to serve the interests of the two friendly countries.
The Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation for Germany’s supportive stances for Iraq, explaining: We affirm our thanks to Germany; For standing with Iraq, supporting us in our battle against ISIS, supporting us in the United Nations, providing humanitarian aid, and logistical support for the security forces. Adding: Iraq still needs your support, especially that you have experience in the reconstruction of your cities that were destroyed by wars, as well as your experience in the field of economic advancement. He expressed Iraq’s affirmation to raise relations between the two countries to higher levels, and we hope to open multiple horizons in the field of economic, trade and energy cooperation, and ways to confront the repercussions of climate change between the two countries, stressing the need for security and intelligence coordination, especially in the field of combating terrorism and eliminating it. intellectual
For her part, the German Foreign Minister, Mrs. Annalina Birbock, expressed the importance of developing bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields, adding that Berlin affirms its commitment to support Iraq at all levels.
