The delegation of Iraq, headed by His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Dr. Khaled Battal Al-Najm, participated in the ministerial meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF2022), organized by the Economic and Social Council at the United Nations.

The 2022 High Level Political Forum will be held under the theme “Building back better from COVID-19 while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

In his speech, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, stressed that the world faces important and difficult choices to achieve the sustainable development goals, by 2030, calling for work together with ambition, determination and solidarity, to save these goals before it is too late.
